Shrove Tuesday Celebration

February 25

Join us for dinner and frivolity as we celebrate as a community with our sisters and brothers from St. Luke’s and St. Margaret’s!  Shrove Tuesday also known as Fat Tuesday or Mardi Gras is the day before Ash Wednesday.  Historically it was a time to use up all the fat before the leanness of Lent began.  St. Thomas’ has always enjoyed spending this time together in community with good food, laughter, and fun.  This year we will host in our fourth floor parish hall.  Please join us from 6:30-8:30 on February 25th, bringing something delicious to share.  Friends from St. Luke’s will be bringing chicken and waffles while friends from St. Margaret’s will be bringing jambalaya.  We look forward to celebrating together!

Burning of the Palm Leaves

You may know that the ashes for Ash Wednesday come from burning palm leaves. If you have old palm crosses or leaves from Palm Sundays past, and would like them to be burned for this year’s ashes, please bring them to church in the coming weeks. We will burn them during the Shrove Tuesday party.
